CEREC: Digital Dental Impressions

CEREC is a new technology to the Dental Center of Deerwood, and we are very excited to be able to offer this service to our patients. CEREC consists of 2 computerized machines that work together to design and fabricate beautiful porcelain crowns, inlays, onlays (partial crowns), and veneers.

Traditionally, when a crown or other porcelain or metal restoration was needed, a minimum of two visits was necessary. First, the tooth was prepared, a model of the teeth was made and sent to the lab, and a temporary restoration was placed. About two or three weeks later, the patient had to return to the office to have the permanent crown cemented.

Now, with CEREC, we can usually complete the permanent restoration in one visit. Not only does this save time, but it also eliminates the often-troublesome temporary restorations.

In addition to crowns, we can replace old, worn, unattractive metal fillings with long-lasting porcelain restorations that match the natural tooth. Please ask us if CEREC is a good option for you!
